  FARENHEIT

In 2003 Reggae Dancehall took the international airwaves by storm with artists like Sean Paul, Wayne Wonder, and Elephant Man and rhythms like Buzz and Diwali topping the charts from Jamaica to the United States and around the world. Now straight from Kingston, Jamaica comes an artist by the name of Farenheit who has dreams of taking Jamaican music and carrying it even further into the mainstream in 2004.

Born Terrence Harold in Mona, Kingston 6, Jamaica, Farenheit has already given international audiences a glimpse of what he has to offer, touring with international sensation Sean Paul as a backup singer and hype man throughout 2003- a tour which allowed him to grace the stage alongside Jay-Z, as well as 50 Cent, on the sold-out “Rock the Mic Tour”. Utilizing his threefold ability to rap, sing, and flow eloquently in patois, Farenhiet’s style is a unique blend of hip-hop, soul, R&B, and Reggae that has yet to be topped by any artist in Jamaica, Europe, or the United States. A glimpse of his talent may be heard on Sean Paul’s multi-platinum 2003 release “Dutty Rock”, where he appears alongside Sean on “Gimme that Bubble”, a track produced by none other than the renowned producer Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes.

Prior to touring internationally in 2003, Farenheit spent much of his time in the studio and expressing his multiple talents in various other artistic genres. His debut album “Fringe to Fore” (Mystic Urchin Music) landed him on the cover of music industry bible Billboard Magazine, which saluted him for his genre-bending musical blends and infectious bedroom melodies. In 2002 he was again spotted in the international press for “Adelante” (Forward Recordings), an album recorded with Ky-Mani Marley and released in Europe to commercial and critical success. Outside of the studio Farenheit has also demonstrated his skill as an actor, taking to the stage in various theatrical roles including a lead role in a South African musical about HIV awareness. This role opened the doors for the continuation of his acting conquest, landing him impressive spots in the Jamaican plays “Against his Will”, “Dirty Diana”, and “Redemption”, where he acted alongside well known Jamaican actor Paul Campbell (Lunatic, Dancehall Queen, Shottas). Highlights of Farenheit’s acting career also include his role in the full-length film “Goathead’, written by Paul Bucknor (co-writer of the critically acclaimed film “The Full Monty”), as well as his recurring character on the hit Jamaican soap opera “Royal Palm Estate”- a role that gained him celebrity status across the island, providing him with a foundation for keeping a level head once he reaches his full potential.

Farenheit’s sophomore effort “Port Antonio Virgin”, set for release in early 2004, is an eclectic mix of tracks produced mainly by himself and acclaimed Dancehall producer Baby G (Mexican Riddim, 20 Cent Riddim), son of the pioneering Jamaican producer King Jammy. The album’s first single “Seven Days” is currently high on the Jamaican charts, with a video already in heavy rotation. Also appearing on the album are Kid Corrupt, Sizzla, and Sean Paul.

It is no secret that Farenheit’s career-to-date shows all signs of containing the formula for success. A 70’s kid who managed to avoid the harsh realities of life in Kingston, Jamaica, he realized his love for the arts at an early age and has since allowed his talents to lead him towards his dream. The path he has taken thus far has allowed him to work with some of the most successful entertainers in his country, giving him a taste of what the music and entertainment industries have to offer- a taste that has only made him grow even hungrier for success. As a result, he has vowed to sharpen his skills and collaborate with successful artists in order to further innovate and create a unique, sexy sound that pushes musical boundaries and continues to garner commercial success worldwide.
